An End Time Generation?

“The world has encountered the devastation of the tsunami. The death toll may never be known to man, but each person who died now faces their eternal destiny. Among them were unreached people groups that were completely wiped out, people who had never had the opportunity to hear the gospel once.”

At the same time, areas have opened to the gospel which were previously closed. This is a window of opportunity for followers of Jesus to make the gospel known in word and deed, to be the living, walking manifestation of the Body of Jesus on the earth. To live the fasted life of Isaiah 58 and seize the moment.

We have been warned that earthquakes, famines, wars, and rumors of wars (Matthew 24:7) will be signs of the closing era of this earth. If such things are going to happen we need to ask how we can use events such as the tsunami to prepare this generation for the coming months and years ahead of them. If God is raising up an end time generation they need to be ready.

The Bible tells us that the days are coming when “many will fall away.” Not a few, but “many.” We heard leaders of churches questioning their faith as the death toll of the tsunami increased, however news like this should increase our faith because Jesus warned us of these things and their happening validates that He truly is the Living God. Young people and children will see these things as affirming their faith and not denying it as we unfold the Word of God to them.

We want to raise a “Go” generation. The Indonesian tsunami in 2004 has given us the opportunity of training a generation to run to where they are needed. They are called to advance and not retreat, to take opportunities that will prepare them to reap the end time harvest of the earth in the midst of the darkest times this world has ever known (Revelation 14:14-19).

Many were challenged to take seriously the signs of the times, to see the news through God’s eyes and use these times to train this generation so that as events unfold, they are not overcome but overcomers.
